nanimarquina is a Barcelona-based design brand founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina, at a time when contemporary rugs didn't really exist in Spain. Raised around design — her father was one of the pioneers of Spanish industrial design — she set out to make rugs worth looking at, not just walking on. Every piece is handmade using traditional weaving techniques adapted to contemporary design, and the brand collaborates with designers like Ronan Bouroullec, Ilse Crawford and Jaime Hayón. Still family-run, and built to last rather than be replaced. At Brown, we carry our favorites.
